I enjoyed contributing to the Homerton College annual teaching day earlier this week. Our provocation - 'what kind of teaching do our students need now?' - spoke directly to the needs of students whose studies have been beset by the pandemic.
I spoke about the need for an empathetic approach from us as teachers and educators. Our students have experienced the pandemic in highly uneven ways - and continue to feel its effects in different ways. Recognising this, and pivoting our expectations accordingly, will be crucial if we are to continue supporting our students in the coming months.
